Condolence: We send our deepest condolences to the entire Adams family. The man I always knew as “Big Ty” was truly a sports legend in Cherokee County. One of my first jobs was as a Referee for Cherokee Youth Basketball, an opportunity working in sports which Ty gave me. I believe I remember a story that Jeremy told me of his Pop making some incredible number of Free-Throws in a row at the old Hickory Flat Gym. That’s the kind of legend that he was in our town. I would love to hear that story again someday. I have many great memories of “Big Ty” on the Basketball Court or on the Ball-Field. My dad always spoke of the great impact Ty made for our community through the foundation of East Cherokee Baseball. A major part of my childhood was spent enjoying playing baseball in a league that may have never existed were it not for the dedication of Ty. I like to imagine that Ty is now organizing a new Baseball League in heaven. While I know your family will all miss him dearly, know that he will always be remembered. Numerous people throughout the Hickory Flat Community, Cherokee County, and the State of Georgia have been greatly impacted by Ty, Betty, and the Adams family.

For Sorrow Will Endure For The Night, but Joy Will Come In The Morning. -Psalms 30:5

Condolence: I am so very sorry for the loss of Ty Adams, Sr. I first came to know him as my baseball coach for several years. I began to work with him at GDOT until he retired. I worked for him for 15 years calling basketball for CCYB. He was a Christian man that would stand up for you in the right or wrong. He and Betty raised 4 outstanding children, Ty jr., Todd, Terry , and Tammy. All with in their right very upstanding citizens with moral character. I played ball and referred with the boys and several grandchildren. We are in Daytona Beach and will not be able to.be with the family. Betty, Tammy, Ty jr, Todd, and Terry we love you!
