"Gene"  Blanton
Lester Eugene (Gene) Blanton, Age 84 was called home by our Heavenly Father on Monday, November 14, 2016. He is preceded in death by his Father James Lester Thomas, Mother-Alvetta Chance Blanton, Sisters-Etta Mae Haygood and Marie Masters, Brothers-James and Bud Blanton. His infant son Weldon Eugene.
Survived by his Wife-Blanche Cloud Blanton, Daughters-Becky and Jim Johnson of Kentucky, Regenia and David Denny of North Carolina and Son-Eddy Lee of Kentucky. Grandson-Jason Stanley, Great grandson-Camron and Bryce Stanley of Indiana.

Gene was a great provider for his family and loved to grow a vegetable garden. He was a friend to many in every state he lived in. He was a generous man and liked to help people any way he could. He loved his children and wife. He was the classic George Jones song, "He stopped loving her today"!

He was a Retired Truck Driver for Motor Convoy/Allied Systems 33 years of service and earned multiple Safe Driving awards. He was an Army Veteran served in the 82nd Airborne out of Fort Brag.

Visitation will be at South Canton Funeral Home on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 3:00PM until 8:00PM.

Funeral Services will be held at the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jimmy Andrews officiating. Burial to follow at Orange Methodist Church Cemetery in Lathemtown, GA.
